But first you have to find out what all the best attractions in Akron are. So here's a guide to all that you can experience in Akron, whether it's viewing a lusterstone exhibit at one of the local galleries or attending one of the city's annual festivals.

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens should be one of the first stops for anyone looking for the city's highlights. This former residence of Goodyear founder Frank Seiberling is now seventy acres of estate land that has been preserved with one of the best English style gardens in the country. This is a great place to take pictures of your Maggie Sottero bridal party or just stroll for an afternoon.

Those interested in even more of an outdoor experience can head to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It is over fifty square miles of parkland that extends from Akron all the way to Cleveland. The Towpath Trail is one of the best locations in the state for hiking and mountain biking and the park also hosts everything from art exhibits to outdoor concerts.

Derby Downs is a great place to visit with the whole family. It is the home of the track for the All-American Soap Box Derby. This three-lane course has existed in this location since the 1930s. There are a number of historic houses and museums in the city for those with an interest in the past. The Archives of the History of American Psychology is located in the city, as is the American Marble and Toy Museum. The festivals and yearly events in the city range from the National Hamburger Festival to Highland Square's Art in the Square series. If you're looking for great shopping, where you can find a new outfit or trade cash for gold jewelry, the Market Path should be your first stop.
